The 81st Session of the Grand Orange Lodge of New Zealand was proudly hosted by the Wellington District at the Copthorne Hotel over King's Birthday Weekend 2026. The weekend began on Friday evening with a wonderful mix-and-mingle gathering, complete with delicious nibbles and plenty of fellowship as members renewed old friendships and welcomed one another for another memorable Grand Session. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our life time member, Sis Jean Ruddenklau on 25th January 2026. Sis Jean came from a proud and longstanding tradition of Orangewomen and was a devoted and active member of the Canterbury region throughout her life. Over the years, Jean served in many ranks across the Orange Order and made a lasting contribution to the organisation. She will be especially remembered for her remarkable passion for writing and art. Sis Je
